YTD Results for 1st Half of 2014

It has not been a good year for the iron condor or most non-directional strategies. They still work but in this one-way market it is easier to just sell Put Spreads and not have to worry about the Call side.

Nevertheless, OptionGenius is doing well for the year.

At the end of June, the service is up 13.38%.

This is far lower than what I would like, especially since I am aiming for a 50% yearly gain, but it is better than the overall markets and it sure beats a loss.

July trades are doing well and will probably add to the return.

Although I do expect more volatility towards the end of the year, there is no telling what will happen. The closer we get to the FED raising interest rates the more interesting the markets will become.

Until then, be long and hand on. That is what I am doing.

If the VIX starts trending higher and establishes a base above 15, that will be the time to become concerned. Not outright bearish, but concerned.

Happy Trading!

Hi Allen, I paper traded for 3 mos. as you recommended and July was the first month I traded real money. I was happy with the return and am happy to have found your service. I have been trying to reach you via the “Contact Us” button on the site but all I get is a page that says “FormMail-Clone
The system administrator has disabled this script.” I wanted to let you know that when I get your emails (which I enjoy) that unless it is an actual web address that I can copy and paste into another window, the links covered with other text take me to ads which have nothing to do with your subject matter. This happened again today (8/27/14) on the “Meet my Trading Mentor”. I am disappointed as I would have really liked to have clicked to download his trading plan but I just got taken to different ads that had nothing to do with it each time I clicked. Hope you can remedy. Thanks so much for your service I really enjoy it.
